If I Had My Life to Live Over如果我能再活一次

Written after the author found out she was dying from cancer.

（作者發(fā)現(xiàn)自己得了癌癥，時(shí)日無(wú)多。）

I would have gone to bed when I was sick instead of pretending the earth would go into a holding pattern if I weren't there for the day.

（如果我能再活一次）生病的時(shí)候我就臥床休息，不會(huì)假設(shè)自己一天不工作，地球就會(huì)停止轉(zhuǎn)動(dòng)。

I would have burned the pink candle sculpted like a rose before it melted in storage. 

我要將雕成玫瑰花狀的粉紅蠟燭點(diǎn)上，而不讓它在閑置中溶化。

I would have eaten the popcorn in the “good” living room and worried much less about the dirt when someone wanted to light a fire in the fireplace. 

我要在“講究”的客廳里吃爆玉米花。倘若有人在壁爐生火帶出了爐灰，我不會(huì)操那么多閑心。

I would never have insisted the car windows be rolled up on a summer day because my hair had just been teased and sprayed. 

我決不會(huì)因?yàn)橄奶祛^發(fā)剛剛梳理過(guò)、噴過(guò)發(fā)膠，就一定要把車(chē)窗玻璃搖起來(lái)。 

I would have cried and laughed less while watching television—and more while watching life. 

看電視我要少哭一點(diǎn)，少笑一點(diǎn)，看生活我要多哭一點(diǎn)，多笑一點(diǎn)。 

I would never have bought anything just because it was practical, wouldn't show soil, or was guaranteed to last a lifetime. But mostly given another shot at life,I would seize every minutes,look at it and really see it,live it and never give it back. Don't worry about who doesn't like you, who has more, or who's doing what. 

我買(mǎi)東西不會(huì)只看它很實(shí)用，不顯臟，或能保證用一輩子。如果再給我一次重新生活的機(jī)會(huì),我會(huì)珍惜每分每秒、正視生活、感悟生活,認(rèn)真的活,不再后退。不擔(dān)心誰(shuí)不喜歡我，誰(shuí)比我富有，或者誰(shuí)在干什么。
