The Elements of Success
I don’t believe that there is any one recipe forsuccess. Instead, I believe success is the result of acombination of a lot of different factors - and not allof them are needed for success. The more factorsyou have on your side, the more likely you are tosucceed, and positive attitude is just one of those factors. Here are seven additional factorsthat are also important.
Knowledge A strong body of knowledge about the area in which you wish to succeed is oftenone of the key building blocks of success. You can build this by pushing yourself - read and tryout the foundational materials and push yourself into challenging areas to build yourknowledge.
Natural talent Some people are born with a predisposition to succeed in certain areas. Findthis out for yourself by trying a lot of different activities and seeing what comes easy to you.The things you do with little or no effort that genuinely impress others are likely very near yournatural talent, and natural talent combined with a lot of hard work leads to greatness. 
Clear goals and planning Much like a trip, it’s a lot easier to get where you want to go if youknow where you’re going and spend the time to plan the route you’ll take to get there. Thinkabout what your definition of success exactly is, then identify some of the things that need tobe done to help you move towards it.
Passion An intense, burning desire to dig deep into a particular area is often a sign that you’llfind success there. Much as with your natural talent, the way to find your passion is to touchon a lot of different areas and see what resonates for you.
Focus/consistent effort Hard work is another key to finding success. You don’t become achampion without practicing every day. If you want to succeed in a certain area, work hard inthat area and go beyond what others are doing - deliberate practice is one big key.
Luck/opportunity Luck and opportunity also play an important role in success - sometimesthings just click due to forces outside your control. You can improve your luck by making asmany strong personal contacts as you can and sharing what you have to increase their “luck”and “opportunities.”
Cooperation/support Along with luck comes cooperation - the fact that others are working insmall ways to help you succeed rather than hinder you. A spouse telling you that you can dothis is going to go a lot further than a spouse telling you you’ll never make it.

知識。對你希望涉足的領(lǐng)域有充足的知識儲備往往是成功的關(guān)鍵基石。你可以通過閱讀或嘗試基礎(chǔ)性的東西使自己前進(jìn)；或者，敦促自己進(jìn)入有挑戰(zhàn)性的領(lǐng)域以建立自己的知識庫。

天賦。有些人天生就具有在某些領(lǐng)域取得成功的資質(zhì)。通過嘗試不同的活動，看看哪些更適合自己，找出適合自己的發(fā)展領(lǐng)域。那些你花費(fèi)很少精力ihuo不費(fèi)吹灰之力去做能真正打動別人的事物，可能就是你的天賦所在。天賦加上勤奮就會成功。

明確目標(biāo)和計劃。就像旅行一樣，如果你知道自己的目的地并花時間去計劃路線的話，達(dá)到目的地會很容易。想想你對成功確切的定義是什么，然后明確一下那些能助你朝目標(biāo)邁進(jìn)的事情，并完成它們。

激情。想要深入某一特定領(lǐng)域的強(qiáng)烈愿望通常是你將在這一領(lǐng)域有所建樹的跡象。想象尋找自己的天賦所在一樣，找到自己的興趣所在的方式也是通過涉足不同的領(lǐng)域，看哪些能和自己長生共鳴。
專注/始終如一的努力。努力是成功的另一關(guān)鍵。沒有每天的訓(xùn)練不可能成為冠軍。如果想在某一領(lǐng)域成功，那就在這一領(lǐng)域努力吧，而且要比其他人更努力---游刃有余也是一個重要環(huán)節(jié)。

運(yùn)氣/機(jī)會。運(yùn)氣和機(jī)會也發(fā)揮了重要作用—有時事情受你控制之外的外力影響只會曇花一現(xiàn)。你可以盡可能多地建立人際關(guān)系，與他們分享自己所得，這可提升他人的運(yùn)氣和機(jī)會，通過這些想法，你也會改善自己的運(yùn)氣。

合作/支持。伴隨著好運(yùn)一起來的是合作---事實(shí)在于，別人是通過不顯著的方式助你成功，而并沒有阻礙你。鼓勵遠(yuǎn)比打擊更能使人進(jìn)步。
